Bairstow and his girlfriend Eleanor Tomlinson welcomed a baby boy on Wednesday

England cricketer Jonny Bairstow and his girlfriend Eleanor Tomlinson have welcomed their first child, a baby boy.

The couple announced the happy news on Instagram on Wednesday, sharing a picture of their newborn son.

Bairstow wrote: "Delighted to share with you that my girlfriend and I have welcomed our first child, a beautiful baby boy.

"We are both so happy and can't wait to start this new chapter in our lives."

Tomlinson, who is an actress, also shared the news on her Instagram account.

"We are so happy to announce the birth of our beautiful baby boy," she wrote.

"He is a perfect little bundle of joy and we are so in love."

The couple have been together for over two years and announced their engagement in March 2023.

Bairstow is currently preparing for the Ashes series against Australia, which starts on June 16.

He will be hoping to add to his impressive Test record, which includes 10 centuries and over 5,000 runs.
